Flight Attendant Preparation
COVID-19 Advisory: Our Statement

COVID-19's Impact on
Flight Attendant Careers

The pandemic reshaped commercial aviation almost overnight. Fleets were grounded, hiring froze across nearly every major and regional airline, and thousands of flight attendants were furloughed as passenger demand collapsed.

As travel recovered, airlines faced the opposite problem: a shortage of trained crew to meet rebounding demand. Hiring surged again, and flight attendant careers remain one of the most in-demand paths in aviation today.

The statement below is a legacy statement from 2020 addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, published by our President & CEO during that period. We've kept it here for transparency and historical record.

  • Nationwide fleet groundings and hiring freezes
  • Widespread flight attendant furloughs
  • Evolving in-cabin health & safety protocols
  • A strong rebound in flight attendant hiring

Flight Attendant Preparation
COVID-19 Advisory

Triad Aviation Academy's mission is to provide exemplary educational opportunities for our pilot and Flight Attendant students alike.

These are unprecedented times, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with safety recommendations changing daily. We remain in close contact with the airlines and are following CDC guidance.

At this time, one-on-one Pilot training will continue, with enhanced safety precautions and disinfecting regimens in place. Our Flight Attendant Preparation Program has also resumed as travel has been regaining traction. Through our close relationship with the airlines, we have learned that Flight Attendant hiring for most airlines is expected to increase with time.

Our commitment to our students is to not only provide them with world class preparation for hiring with an airline and being successful in their training process, but also to guarantee they get an interview and possible job placement during class. Immediate hires have typically ranged between 80 and 100%.

As airline hiring is no longer suspended, we remain in close contact with our airline partners and are confident that our students have a strong chance of hire following the completion of our class.

We will continue to take precautions moving forward to reflect current conditions, incorporating virtual learning into certain aspects of the course where appropriate.

We all are excited that airlines are roaring back and that the demand for Flight Attendants is increasing. We are excited to continue instruction!

Sincerely,

Bruce J. McCall
